A period-correct steering wheel transforms an E30 cabin. The factory M-Technic 1 (370mm) and M-Technic 2 (385mm) wheels are the most sought-after, alongside period aftermarket wheels from Racing Dynamics, Momo and others that were fitted new in the 80s and 90s. Original examples with good leather are getting scarce — we grade every wheel honestly and photograph the wear so there are no surprises.
All factory E30 wheels bolt straight onto the standard hub. Period aftermarket wheels (Racing Dynamics, Momo, Nardi) use their own bolt patterns and need the matching hub adapter — listings note what's included.
The M-Technic 1 is a 370mm leather wheel with a distinctive three-spoke design fitted to earlier cars; the M-Technic 2 is the later 385mm four-spoke design. Both are direct fits on the E30 hub, and both have become collector items.
Factory BMW wheels (M-Tech 1, M-Tech 2, standard wheels) fit the original E30 hub directly. Aftermarket wheels like Racing Dynamics or Momo need the correct hub/boss kit — each listing states whether one is included.
